Rural
Arisings works in partnership with local authorities,
NGOs and charities as well as private landowners. An example
of one of our projects is Church Marshes Country Park
in Sittingbourne, Kent.
Church
Marshes Country Park is a former landfill site that ceased
being used in the early 1970s. At the time the regulations
regarding the restoration of landfill sites were not as
stringent as the present day. As a result the site was
not sufficiently capped at the time and this has resulted
in contamination making it unsafe for use by the General
Public.
Rural
Arisings are now working with Swale Borough Council, the
current landowner, and Groundwork Medway Swale to resolve
the contamination issue and convert the site into a useable
Country Park. Once the works have been completed features
of the Park will include, Wild Flower Meadows, Great Crested
Newt Breeding Ponds, Reptile Habitat, Picnic Areas, and
a Children’s Play Area. Click on the link below
